KJ Surkin got this petition on Change.org set up and ready to go. For information on what this petition is all about see KJ’s words posted with the petition. Here is the link.
In a nutshell, Myriad has years and years of data collected from millions of people and they don’t want to share it with Clinvar, other researchers, or even the patients themselves who gave their own blood or spit. It’s vital that this data be shared and not kept in Myriad’s secret vault. Sharing means caring, literally! To have the brilliance of MANY going over our combined genetic data could bring us closer to life saving answers so much sooner. We believe that our lives, and the lives of our loved ones are worth it. This data sharing can ultimately lead to better choices than cutting off body parts as a means of prevention. Please, please, read, sign, and share, share, share.
- Please read the words and you’ll completely understand why this is so important.
- Sign that baby!
- Share it with all of your networks!
Sometimes as individuals we forget that we have a voice, but we really do, and now would be a great time to use it.
Thank you!
